Powered by Nikola Jokic's record-setting 8th triple-double and Western Conference finals MVP, the Denver Nuggets have earned their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history. With a 4-0 sweep over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Nuggets have punched their ticket to the championship series, where they will face either the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heat.
Jokic averaged 33.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in the four games against the Lakers, shooting 62.1% from the field. He became the first player in NBA history to record eight triple-doubles in a single postseason.
The Nuggets have been one of the most consistent teams in the NBA this season, finishing the regular season with a 58-24 record. They have also been impressive in the playoffs, posting a 12-4 record and knocking out the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and Lakers in the process.
