Blessed Carlo Acutis' Tomb Reopens
Pilgrims Can Now Visit
In Assisi, Italy
ASSISI, Italy - The tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis has reopened as Italy begins to relax pandemic restrictions. Pilgrims can now visit Acutis' tomb at the Sanctuary of the Renunciation, part of the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Assisi.
Acutis, who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, was known for his holiness and his love of the Eucharist. He was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020.
The reopening of Acutis' tomb is a sign that Italy is slowly returning to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also a reminder of the holiness of Acutis, who is a role model for young people around the world.
